Ivan Filippovich Yankovsky, a Russian actor born on October 30, 1990, in Moscow, Russian SFSR, Soviet Union, is the son of actor/director Filipp Yankovsky and actress Oksana Fandera.
As a young boy, Ivan was already involved in the film industry, making his cinematic debut at the age of 10 in the film "Come Look at Me" (2001). He later studied at the Moscow International Film School and then entered the prestigious Gerasimov Institute of Cinematography (GITIS),graduating from the acting and directing department in 2013.
Ivan's breakthrough role came in 2008 with the film "Indigo", where he played the character of Andrei Kalyaev, a person with superpowers. This role brought him recognition among the public and established him as a talented young actor.
In 2015, Ivan starred in the film "Rag Union", directed by Mikhail Mestetskiy, and won the prize for "Best Actor" at the XXVI Open Russian Film Festival "Kinotavr". His character in the film is not frivolous, but rather ideological, and Ivan related to the character's self-flagellation and soul-searching.
Ivan's other notable roles include Pasha Smolnikov in the Russian fantasy film "Guardians of the Night" (2016),where he played a courier who works in the department of fighting werewolves and witches. He also starred in the thriller film "The Queen of Spades" (2016),where his character is a young singer who yearns to get the role of Hermann in the opera.
Throughout his career, Ivan has received several awards and nominations, including the prize for the best male lead actor at the Golden Eagle awards for his work in "The Queen of Spades".
