Indranil Roychowdhury, a renowned film director, hails from the vibrant city of Kolkata, where Bengali cinema has a rich cultural heritage.
In 1992, Roychowdhury earned his undergraduate degree in English from Jadavpur University, a prestigious institution in Kolkata.
After completing his undergraduate studies, Roychowdhury furthered his academic pursuits by obtaining a postgraduate Diploma in Film Direction from the renowned Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) in Pune, in the year 1995.
Following his formal education, Roychowdhury ventured into the world of film as a freelance writer/director in Kolkata, where he honed his skills and gained valuable experience from 1996 to 2000.
Years of dedication and hard work ultimately led to the release of his debut feature film, Phoring, a testament to his growth as a filmmaker and his ability to tell compelling stories on the big screen.
