Lawrence Hankins 'Hank' Locklin, a renowned American country music singer-songwriter, was born on February 15, 1918. Throughout his illustrious career, Locklin was a member of the prestigious Grand Ole Opry for nearly five decades, and he had a remarkable recording career with RCA Victor.

Locklin's impressive discography included several chart-topping hits, such as "Please Help Me, I'm Falling", "Send Me the Pillow You Dream On", and "Geisha Girl", which were released between 1957 and 1960. His singles consistently charted from 1949 to 1971, solidifying his position as one of country music's early honky tonk singers.

Locklin's music career began with small label Royalty in northeast Texas, but he soon moved to 4 Star Records, a regional country music label, before signing a long-term contract with RCA Victor. He achieved an estimated 15 million record sales worldwide, and his songs were recorded by numerous other artists, including Willie Nelson, Dolly Parton, Roy Rogers, Dwight Yoakam, and Dean Martin.

Locklin's appearances on the Grand Ole Opry were a staple of his career, and he made his first appearance in 1960. He continued to entertain audiences at the Opry until his final appearance in 2007.
