Filip Renč, a Czech film director, screenwriter, and actor, was born on August 17, 1965. His affinity for movies and drama began in his childhood, and he started appearing in films at a young age, including Julek (1980) and Leve kridlo (1983).
During his studies at the Film and TV School of The Academy of Performing Arts in Prague (FAMU),Renč created documentaries, such as Zapadákov and Srdíčko, which earned him awards at the International film schools festival in 1987 and 1988. His debut movie, Requiem for a Maiden, was a success at the Czechoslovakian film festival FORUM in Bratislava.
After his studies, Renč directed numerous successful films, including From Subway with Love (2005) and At Your Own Risk (2008),which was recently released. He has also directed TV commercials and music videos. As a screenwriter, Renč wrote scripts for films he later directed himself, such as The Rebels (2001),Válka barev (1993),and Requiem for a Maiden (1991).
In addition to his work behind the camera, Renč has also acted in several films, including The Ride (1991) and his own Requiem for a Maiden (1991).
