Estevan Oriol is an internationally renowned photographer, director, and urban lifestyle entrepreneur, whose career spans nearly two decades. Initially, he started out as a hip-hop club bouncer and tour manager for prominent Los Angeles-based rap groups, including Cypress Hill and House of Pain.
As he traveled the world, Oriol's passion for photography began to develop, and with the influence of his father, renowned photographer Eriberto Oriol, he started documenting his experiences and establishing a name for himself within the emerging hip-hop scene.
Over the years, Oriol's extensive portfolio has grown to showcase the glamorous and gritty aspects of LA culture, featuring portraits of famous athletes, artists, celebrities, and musicians, as well as Latino, urban, gang, and tattoo counterculture lifestyles. His subjects have included Al Pacino, Robert De Niro, Dennis Hopper, Marissa Miller, Kim Kardashian, Kanye West, Snoop Dogg, Floyd Mayweather, and Lance Armstrong, among others.
In addition to shooting campaigns for companies like Cadillac, Nike, and Rockford Fosgate, Oriol has directed new media projects for My Cadillac Stories, MetroPCS, MTV, and Apple. He has also designed album covers and/or directed music videos for artists such as Eminem, Cypress Hill, Blink 182, Snoop Dogg, and Xzibit.
Oriol's work has been showcased in select galleries and institutions, including the Smithsonian Center for Latino Initiatives, Mesa Contemporary Art Center, Petersen Automotive Museum, and The Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles' Art in the Streets exhibit. His book, LA Woman, which captures the dangerous and alluring beauty of women shot in his uniquely provocative and raw style, has become a best-seller.
Oriol's photography has been featured in publications such as Complex, FHM, Juxtapoz, GQ, Vibe, and Rolling Stone, and has appeared on popular television shows like HBO's Entourage and Last Call With Carson Daly.
