Elza Kephart, a native of Montréal, Canada, earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Film Production and Screenwriting from Emerson College. Following her academic pursuits, she returned to her hometown, where she penned and directed her debut feature film, "Graveyard Alive." Since its premiere in 2003, the movie has garnered widespread acclaim, screening at over 20 international film festivals and collecting numerous awards along the way. Moreover, "Graveyard Alive" was selected for distribution and international sales. Throughout her career, Kephart has had the privilege of participating in prestigious programs, including the Canadian Film Centre's Director's Lab, the TIFF Talent Lab, and the Berlinale Talent Campus. Notably, she has received development funding for a multitude of projects. Kephart's sophomore feature, "Go in the Wilderness," is a testament to her continued growth as a filmmaker.
