Biography

Elias Saba, a Lebanese politician and economist of great prominence, has left an indelible mark on the country's political landscape. His illustrious career has been marked by two notable stints as Finance minister, the first of which was in the government of Saeb Salam, a period that spanned from October 13, 1970 to May 27, 1972. During this time, Saba also held the dual positions of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence, a testament to his versatility and adaptability.

However, Saba's time in office was not without controversy, with many questioning his decisions and actions during his tenure. This controversy only intensified during his second stint as Finance minister, which took place in the government of Omar Karami from October 21, 2004 to April 18, 2005.

In addition to his work in government, Saba was also a key figure in the creation of the Rassemblement national, a political party founded by former Prime Minister Omar Karami in 2006. Throughout his career, Saba has been a driving force in shaping Lebanon's political landscape, leaving a lasting legacy that continues to be felt to this day.
