Biography

Eduardo Escorel de Morais, professionally known as Eduardo Escorel, is a renowned Brazilian film editor and director, born in 1945. He initially made his mark in the film industry as an editor on the 1965 film "The Priest and the Girl," directed by Joaquim Pedro de Andrade.

Escorel's first feature film, "Lição de Amor," earned him the prestigious Best Director Award at the 1976 Gramado Film Festival. He repeated this success with his second feature film, "Ato de Violência," which won him the Best Director honor at the 1980 Brasília Film Festival.

Throughout his illustrious career, Escorel has received numerous accolades for his work. He won the Best Editing Award at the 1974 Brasília Film Festival for "Guerra Conjugal," and again at the 2000 festival for "O Chamado de Deus." His editing skills also earned him the Best Editing Award at the 2002 Gramado Film Festival for "Dois Perdidos numa Noite Suja."
