Dean Puckett is a multifaceted creative force, excelling as both a writer and director, while also serving as a film lecturer at Falmouth University in Cornwall.
His debut feature film, THE SEVERED SUN, is a testament to his talents, having been developed through the esteemed iFeatures program in collaboration with BBC Films, Creative England, and the British Film Institute, and receiving funding from Screen Cornwall and sales support from MPI Media.
Puckett's short films have garnered international recognition, screening at numerous festivals worldwide and earning a plethora of awards and Vimeo Staff picks. Notable among these is THE SERMON, which was funded by Creative England and the BFI, and went on to be selected for prestigious festivals such as Sitges, BFI Flare, Overlook, Palm Springs Shorts Fest, and Hollyshorts.
Additional accolades include the Straight8 competition win for SATAN'S BITE and recent selections for FrightFest and Encounters Film Festival with THE DEVIL'S FOOTPRINTS.
As he continues to hone his craft, Puckett is actively developing a diverse slate of feature film projects, SE includingAGULL, a vampire movie in collaboration with BFI NETWORK, Rebecca Wolff & Early Day Films (BAIT),and ROT, a high-octane body horror with Qwerty Films (SEVERANCE, THE DUTCHESS, FLORENCE FOSTER JENKINS).
