Belarus-born Darya Zhuk is a highly acclaimed film director, whose passion for filmmaking has spanned long enough to garner recognition at numerous prestigious film festivals. Her short films have been selected for showcasing at prominent events such as SXSW, Tarkovsky, Oaxaca, Atlanta, Palm Springs, Koroche, and Santa Fe Independent film festivals.
Darya's impressive educational background includes a Master of Fine Arts degree in Directing from Columbia University. She divides her time between Minsk and Brooklyn, where she continues to hone her craft.
In 2015, Darya's exceptional talent earned her the best female writer/director award from New York Women in Film and Television for her short film, The Real American.
Her feature film debut, Crystal Swan, made a significant splash in the film industry, premiering in the East of the West Competition at Karlovy Vary IFF 2018. The film went on to win the Grand Prix at the Odesa International Film Festival, solidifying Darya's position as a rising star in the world of cinema.
