Danny Winn is a multifaceted and instinctual actor with a wide range of characters under his belt. With a background in Fine Arts in Theatre, he has honed his craft through various roles in television series and film.
Danny's breakout performances this spring include his lead role as Paul, a priest struggling with inner demons, in the suspense thriller "The Crossbreed" directed by Turkish filmmaker Biray Dalkiran. This is Dalkiran's first feature film in Hollywood and the US, and "The Crossbreed" has received several awards at LA film festivals.
In his second release this spring, Danny stars in the period western "Hyde Park" under the direction of Nicholas Barton, known for his meticulous attention to authenticity in storytelling. Danny plays the role of Happy Jim, a Faro dealer caught in the crossfire of love, jealousy, and survival in the old west. He brings his method acting to new heights by playing two characters in one, and showcases his skills in card dealing, even developing a signature move, the Faro flip.
Viewers will also get to see Danny perform his own stunts in the film, alongside a talented cast including C Thomas Howell, Luke Arnold, Viva Bianca, Richard Riehle, MC Gainey, and more.
Danny attributes his believability and instinctual method to his true-life experiences, drawing from a wide range of emotions and memories. He believes that the true magic happens in the moment of filming, when the character shines instinctually without over-processing.
Danny's adaptability and accessibility to emotions are derived from his experiences moving around the many stations of his father's 21-year military duty. He has also gained valuable experience through various roles in television series and film, including NBC's "The Night Shift", AMC's "Longmire", "Graves", and WGN's "Manhattan", as well as stunt and stunt coordinator roles in productions such as AMC's "Preacher", the movie "Shot Collar", and the remake of "The Magnificent 7".
One of Danny's earliest feature film roles was in the movie "Gold" alongside Mathew McConaughey, where he played a disgruntled investor ready to throw blows with McConaughey's character.
