Dan Chisu is the driving force behind the esteemed DaKINO International Film Festival, the oldest and most revered film festival in Romania, which has been held annually in Bucharest since its inception in 1991.
Throughout his illustrious career, Chisu has produced a diverse array of documentaries for television, including the critically acclaimed "Around the World in 80 Days" (2004),"Reality of a Myth - Peruvian Shamans" (2007),and "The Earth's Taste in 80 Spices" (2008). He has also ventured into television programming, producing and starring in the popular national broadcast "I Eat, Therefore I Am", which enjoyed a successful four-year run.
Beyond his work in television, Chisu has also made significant contributions to the world of literature, having penned several books, including the poignant memoir "Alone Under the Shower" (2004),as well as the thought-provoking volumes "The Studio in the Forest of Cranes", "100 Times About", and "Stories About Recipes" - 2 volumes.
In 2008, Chisu took the leap into feature filmmaking, directing his debut film "WebSiteStory", an independent production that premiered in 2010. His sophomore effort, "Ursul (The Bear)", was released in the spring of 2011, followed by "Si Caii Sunt Verzi pe Pereti (Chasing Rainbows)" in November 2012.
Currently, Chisu is in the midst of post-production for two forthcoming feature projects, the narrative film "Deja Vu" and the documentary feature "Youtube Bazaar", both of which showcase his continued dedication to pushing the boundaries of storytelling and cinematic innovation.
