Cole Swanson is a renowned screenwriter and film director, distinguished not only for his exceptional storytelling abilities but also for his impressive collaborations with prominent industry professionals. His critically acclaimed and HBO award-nominated short film, Baby, served as the catalyst for his thriving career, which has since spanned multiple award-winning projects.
Cole's extensive creative portfolio boasts notable collaborations with esteemed brands such as NIKE/Converse and Universal Music Group. He has created captivating visual content for renowned artists including James Blake, Selena Gomez, and Lana del Rey, as well as crafting narrative-driven commercial work for Converse.
Cole's formal educational journey began at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts, where he earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Film & Television Production with a focus on writing and directing in 2023. His artistic development continued at England's National Film and Television School, where he was selected as a director and further honed his skills in directing and working with actors.
Cole is currently pioneering a new genre he calls "New Wave Black Naturalism," which is showcased in his films Betty & Blue, starring Keith David, shot on 16mm film, and his upcoming projects Bloom and Afro Surf.
