Biography

Christian Stavrakis, a native of Pittsburgh, spent his formative years in the suburbs of Washington D.C., where he was exposed to the world of film at an early age, thanks to his brother Taso's frequent collaborations with renowned director George Romero.

After relocating back to Pittsburgh in 1990, Stavrakis worked on numerous films shot in the area, maintaining a close relationship with his friend and classmate Mark Ricche, who remained in Maryland.

The success of "The Blair Witch Project," co-directed by their high school friend Eduardo Sanchez, further fueled Stavrakis and Ricche's determination to produce a feature of their own.

Their hard work culminated in the debut feature of their company, Cryptic Pictures, titled "Mortal Remains," which was 13 years in the making and finally released to the public in 2017.

In addition to his accomplishments in filmmaking, Stavrakis is also a talented sculptor, painter, and writer, continually honing his skills as a multifaceted artist.

Despite his many pursuits, Stavrakis remains dedicated to his craft, driven by a passion for storytelling and a commitment to bringing his creative vision to life.
