Born in 1961, Sergen hails from a family of artists, with his father being an opera singer and his mother a theatre actress. This charismatic actor pursued his education at Hacettepe University's Theatre Department after completing his middle school and high school studies. Following his graduation, he took the stage in numerous theatre venues and made his debut with the State Theatres in 1985. In 1999, he embarked on a happy marriage with his current wife, Işıl Sergen, whom he fell deeply in love with.
