Breonna Taylor, a victim of police brutality and misconduct in 2020, was born on June 5, 1993, in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She was raised by her mother, Tamika Palmer, and her boyfriend, Trory Herrod, in Louisville, Kentucky. Taylor attended local schools in Louisville and graduated from Western High School in 2011. Following her high school graduation, she briefly attended the University of Kentucky before pursuing a career in the medical field. Taylor worked as an Emergency Medical Technician for the city of Louisville and was employed full-time as an Emergency Room Technician (ERT) by Jewish East Medical Center. Additionally, she worked part-time as a Practicing Registered Nurse (PRN) for Norton Healthcare. Despite her aspirations to become a nurse, Taylor's life was tragically cut short when she was fatally shot by police officers in her own home.
