His impressive acting career began to take shape when he won the Promising Young Actor Award at the 22nd Golden Boll Film Festival for his captivating portrayal of Ahmet in the movie 'Abluka'.
Prior to his foray into cinema, Berkay Ates had already made a name for himself in the world of theater, appearing in numerous productions. Some of his notable roles include Rebel in the movie Yarim Kalan Mucize, Ahmet in the movie Abluka, Cengiz in the TV series Anne, and Saltuk in the series Istanbul Sokaklari. His academic background is rooted in the arts, as he graduated from Mimar Sinan University State Conservatory Theater Department.
Berkay Ates' journey in theater began at Semaver Kumpanya, where he started his studies. He later pursued his passion for theater at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University. During his time at university, he worked as an assistant at various institutions, including Dot Theater, Semiha Berksoy Opera Foundation, and Theater Krek. His acting credits include roles in plays such as Bent, Yirmi Bes, Karabatak, and Kral (Soytarim) Lear', which was a joint production with Altidan Sonra Tiyatro/Pangar.
