Benji Aflalo's journey in the entertainment industry began during his high school years with a guest appearance in the pilot episode of the sitcom "Raising Dad" on The WB in 2001-02. However, it wasn't until after he graduated from college in 2006 that he embarked on a career in show business.
Following his graduation, Aflalo transitioned into stand-up comedy and began to build a reputation as a professional comedy writer. His early writing credits include "The Burn with Jeff Ross" on Comedy Central from 2012-13, as well as "The Comedy Central Roast of James Franco" in 2013 and "The Comedy Central Roast of Justin Bieber" in 2015.
In addition to his writing work, Aflalo co-wrote and co-starred in the comedic short film "Alone Together" in 2015 alongside Esther Povitsky. The film, which follows a mismatched pair of young adults as they travel the world together, served as the inspiration for a half-hour comedy series two years later.
Aflalo and Povitsky reprised their roles as leads in the series "Alone Together" on Freeform from 2018, with the show being produced by Andy Samberg and his Lonely Island colleagues Akiva Schaffer and Jorma Taccone.
