Wolfgang, whose real name is Barry Young, is a Scottish professional wrestler currently signed to World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE),where he performs on their NXT UK brand. Born on August 22, 1986, in Glasgow, Scotland, Young's journey to the world of wrestling began long before he stepped into the ring.
Prior to pursuing a career in wrestling, Young worked as a roofer and played rugby, showcasing his versatility and athleticism. His passion for wrestling eventually led him to train under the guidance of Scottish wrestler Mikey Whiplash in 2003, marking the beginning of his wrestling journey.
Young initially competed on the Scottish independent wrestling circuit under the ring name Seb Strife, before adopting the ring name Wolfgang in 2012. His hard work and dedication eventually paid off when he gained national recognition by participating in the first season of the WWE United Kingdom Championship Tournament in 2017.
Wolfgang's impressive performance in the tournament, where he advanced to the quarterfinals before being defeated by Trent Seven, caught the attention of WWE officials. Later that year, he signed with WWE and became a regular on their NXT UK brand.
Throughout his career, Wolfgang has achieved numerous accolades, including holding several championships. He is a one-time Insane Championship Wrestling (ICW) World Heavyweight Champion, a two-time ICW Tag Team Champion, and a one-time Scottish Wrestling Alliance (SWA) Laird of the Ring Champion. Moreover, he has held the WWE NXT UK Tag Team Championship twice, teaming up with Mark Coffey as part of the stable Gallus.
