Baris Bicakci, a Turkish screenwriter and author, embarked on his educational journey in Ankara, where he completed his primary, secondary, and high school education. His academic pursuits continued at the Middle East Technical University, where he earned a degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1992.
Following his graduation, Bicakci began his professional career as the editor of the Popular Science Books series at TÜBITAK in 1998. He also ventured into translation work, rendering scientific texts into various languages.
In addition to his writing endeavors, Bicakci's creative talents extended to the world of cinema. He collaborated with renowned filmmakers, serving as a screenwriter for Seyfi Teoman's 2011 film "Bizim Büyük Çaresizligimizimiz" and as an assistant director for Muzaffer Özdemir's 2011 film "Yurt".
Furthermore, Bicakci's expertise in film selection was showcased at the 19th "Traveling Festival" organized by the Ankara Cinema Association, with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism in November-December 2013. He curated a selection of films, including "Birdy" (1984) and "Gilbert'in Hayalleri" (1993),which were published under the title "Iki Film Arasindaki En Kisa Mesafe".
