Ashley Kilpatrick was born on August 15, 1989, in Nassau, Bahamas, to a family that fostered her creativity from a young age. Growing up, she discovered her passion for poetry and spoken word in high school, where she began writing and performing her pieces at school and church talent shows.
Ashley's involvement in her church, Bahamas Faith Ministries, played a significant role in her development as an artist. She honed her acting skills on stage, performing in stage plays during their annual Youth Alive conferences. Her early roles included "Rare" in "The X-Factor" and "Keisha" in "The Revelation," both written and directed by Radel Parks.
After high school, Ashley pursued her creative ambitions by attending the College of The Bahamas for Fine Arts and later transferring to the Art Institute of Atlanta, where she studied Graphic Design. During her time at the Art Institute, she had the opportunity to act in video majors assignments, voiceover for audio majors, and model for photography majors.
Upon graduation, Ashley worked as a Graphic Designer at Georgia Public Broadcasting, where she gained valuable on-camera experience in the studio. She eventually moved back to the Bahamas in 2013.
However, it was the passing of her mother in 2014 that became a turning point in her life. Ashley's resolve to pursue her passion for acting was reignited, and she moved back to Atlanta to take acting classes at The Alliance Theatre. With the mantra "Whatever is happening to me is happening for me" guiding her, she began picking up work as an extra on several films, including "The Bobby Brown Story" and "Vavavoom."
Ashley's breakout role came when she played "Tonya" in the web series "You Don't Know My Name," written and produced by Erika Lunceford and Amber Smith. With her natural gift for acting and storytelling, Ashley has proven herself to be a talented and dedicated artist. Her intelligence, willingness to learn from professionals, and ability to bring scripts to life make her a force to be reckoned with in the entertainment industry.
As her name, Ashley, means "life" or "tree of life," it is no surprise that she has a profound impact on the stories she tells and the characters she brings to life. With her passion, talent, and dedication, Ashley Kilpatrick is an artist to watch in the years to come.
