Amy Halpern, a renowned filmmaker, left behind a remarkable legacy of nearly forty short films, predominantly shot in 16mm, as well as the feature film FALLING LESSONS, which premiered in 1991.
Born and raised in the vibrant city of New York, Halpern's creative journey took her to Los Angeles, where she spent over four decades honing her craft.
In a remarkable burst of productivity, Halpern completed a suite of twelve new films in June 2022, which were subsequently showcased at a prestigious festival in Spain.
However, fate had other plans, as Halpern was suddenly diagnosed with severe acute myeloid leukaemia (AML) just weeks later. Despite the devastating news, Halpern's life was tragically cut short mere six weeks after the diagnosis, leaving behind a body of work that continues to inspire and captivate audiences to this day.
