Alice Douard embarked on a journey in the realm of art history, eventually transitioning to the directing department of La Fémis, where she honed her craft. Her impressive graduation film, Extrasystole, garnered significant attention, being acquired by Arte and showcased at various prestigious festivals, including the Clermont-Ferrand, Angers, and Pantin film festivals.
As her career progressed, Douard went on to create two additional shorts, Les Filles and Plein Ouest, which delved into themes that resonated deeply with her, such as femininity, the quest for individuality within a group, and the complexities of family relationships.
In 2017, Arte entrusted Douard with the responsibility of directing a one-off television special, aptly titled Robin. Fast-forward to 2022, and Douard co-founded Les Films de June alongside Marie Boitard, subsequently directing her fourth short film, L'Attente.
Currently, Douard is working on her inaugural feature film, Des preuves d'amour, under the guidance of Apsara Films. In addition to her work as a director, Douard also lends her expertise as a script supervisor on both short and feature films.
