Aida Begić, a renowned filmmaker, earned her degree in Film and Theater Directing from the prestigious Academy of Performing Arts in Sarajevo in the year 2000. Her esteemed graduation film, "The First Death Experience", has been showcased at over twenty prominent international film festivals, solidifying her reputation as a talented director.
This groundbreaking film received widespread recognition, including a spot in the 54th Cannes Film Festival – Official Cinefondation Selection. Additionally, it garnered a total of five prestigious awards: Best Short Film at the 6th Ourense Film Festival in Spain, Critics' Award at the 30th Huesca Film Festival in Spain, Methexis Award at the MedFilm Festival in Italy, Special Jury Mention at the 9th Archipelago New Media Film Festival and Short Film in Italy, and further cemented her status as a rising star in the film industry.
As an assistant professor in directing under the guidance of Professor Haris Pašović at the Academy of Performing Arts in Sarajevo, Aida Begić has shared her expertise with the next generation of filmmakers. Furthermore, she has an impressive portfolio, having created numerous commercials, videos, and promotional films.
In 2004, Aida Begić and Elma Tataragic co-founded the production company MAMAFILM, a testament to their dedication to the art of filmmaking and their passion for creating innovative and captivating content.
