In 1425, amidst the Hundred Years' War, 8-year-old Jeannette tends to her sheep in the small French village of Domremy. Horrified by the English suffering, she confides in her friend Hauviette. Madame Gervaise, a nun, tries to calm her, but Jeannette is resolute in her desire to take up arms to save souls and liberate France.
