AFC Richmond, a struggling English Premier League team, has made an unexpected hire: they've appointed American football coach Ted Lasso as their new manager. Despite having no previous experience with soccer/football, Lasso brings his infectious enthusiasm and positive attitude to the job. However, he soon realizes that there are internal forces within the club who don't want him to succeed.
