A New York City TV station hires Bradley Jackson, a progressive and outspoken journalist, as the new co-host of their morning show following a scandal involving the previous host, Mitch Kessler. The station's head manager, Cory Ellison, sees an opportunity to advance his own career. Meanwhile, the show's other co-host, Alex Levy, is disgruntled about having to work with a new partner and tries to use the situation to her advantage. Mitch refuses to accept defeat and seeks revenge against those who knew about his scandal but remained silent. Other key characters include Chip Black, the cynical top producer, Hannah Shoenfeld, the emotionally affected victim of Mitch's abuse, and Fred, the station's sleazy CEO.
