Tsubomi Hanasaki strives to become more outgoing. After becoming a PreCure, she feels joyous - until she realizes her shyness poses an issue for her. Nevertheless, with the help of her newfound companion Erika, she aims to grow into a stronger individual in the future.

In each person resides a Heart Flower connected to the great Heart Tree that protects everyone. The HeartCatch Pretty Cures defend it against desert apostles planning to transform everything into a desert. When Cure Moonlight is defeated in battle, and the heart tree loses its flowers, two fairies, Chypre and Coffret, are sent to the surface to seek out her replacement. They find Tsubomi Hanasaki, a shy flower-loving girl who had just moved with her family into the city, given the power of becoming Cure Blossom. Joining them is Erika Kurumi as Cure Marine, fighting against desert apostles transforming heart flowers into monsters known as Desertarians by defeating them and gaining Heart Seeds which rejuvenate the heart tree.
