Lat Evans and Tom Ping join a cattle drive to Wyoming, where they win a horse race and decide to stay in town. Lat befriends saloon girl Callie, but their friendship is threatened by Jehu, a ruthless rancher who resents Lat. As winter sets in, the friends face hardships and argue, eventually deciding to go their separate ways.
