A British government employee, Judith Farrow, has an affair with a married RAF group captain in Paris. After being rejected, she goes on a vacation in Barbados, where she meets a Soviet military attaché, Feodor Sverdlov, who is also married. Despite being in relationships, they pursue a romantic relationship, which raises suspicions among British and Soviet intelligence agencies.
