In 13th-century Tangiers, regent Mustapha seeks to claim the Caliphate's throne, targeting baby Prince Hussein, the rightful heir. A master thief, Yussef, is hired to assassinate the infant, but instead, he is moved by the child's innocence and decides to steal him. Raising the baby as his own, Yussef trains him to become a skilled thief, but the danger of having a deposed prince as his son eventually becomes apparent.
