The Man Without a Country

An American officer, after renouncing his country during his court-martial, is sentenced to a lifelong voyage on American warships, never to set foot on American soil again or receive any news from home.

Army officer Philip Nolan is exiled to sea after blurting out his desire to never hear of the United States at his court martial. He earns the respect of his crewmates through bravery and scholarship, but eventually regrets his earlier views and becomes America's most ardent admirer.
