In 1873, the Sioux tribe arrives in Canada and is granted permission to settle peacefully. But when a group of cowboys brutally slaughter an entire Sioux village, tensions escalate. The cowboys claim to be searching for a young girl who was previously robbed by the Sioux, but their true intention is to reclaim their stolen horses.

A group of 6,000 Sioux Native Americans flee to Canada, where they are granted asylum. Meanwhile, a Montana rancher and his cowboys track down a Sioux village in search of stolen horses, only to claim they were rescuing a white woman who had been kidnapped.
