Paul Gallard, a former aristocrat turned taxi driver, wins big at the casino in Monte Carlo, breaking the bank with a gambling stake provided by his fellow White Russians. The casino, determined to recover its losses, sends Helen Berkeley to manipulate Paul into losing, but she finds herself falling in love with him instead.
