The crew of the USS Elmira is working on a top-secret project called Operation Honeymoon, which involves testing a cutting-edge computer called MACS. MACS is designed to predict the trajectory of missiles, but Lieutenant Ferguson Howard, a friend of the project's lead scientist, Jason Eldridge, thinks it can also be used to predict games of chance like roulette. The two friends decide to test MACS' abilities at a casino in Venice, but their plan is sidetracked by romantic distractions.
