A murder occurs at a high-society dinner party, and the police are called in. Inspector Killian and his assistant Carney investigate, with the Inspector ordering a re-enactment of the crime to clarify events. However, the re-enactment goes awry, and another murder takes place. Undeterred, the Inspector requests a second re-enactment, gradually narrowing down the suspect list.
