A district attorney who convicted a young man of murder years earlier becomes the warden of the prison where he is now a prisoner. The warden discovers that the man is on the verge of a breakdown due to his grueling job in the prison's textile mill and decides to give him a new chance as his personal valet. As the young man proves himself and earns the respect of the warden and his daughter, he is faced with a difficult decision when he stumbles upon a murder committed by his cellmate.
