Shelley Winters shines as a devoted wife trying to keep her larceny-inclined husband on the right path, alongside Keenan Wynn as her blustery fight-manager husband. Earl Holliman also delivers a standout performance as a harmonica-playing, punch-drunk handyman. The story follows a deacon's son who goes on the run after a fight over a girl, and becomes a successful prize fighter with the help of Willy Wurble. However, his religious background leads him to refuse to take a dive in a fight, despite Willy's attempts to manipulate him.
