Phoebe Weyms, a secretary, is secretly in love with her boss Gordon Crouse, but he's oblivious. She tries to get his attention by unmasking the "Blind Date" radio program's mysterious singers at a Navy recruiting rally. However, Gordon is furious and insults the singers, Brenda and Cobina, as being ugly. Phoebe then comes up with a plan to have agency models Jerry and Kitty pose as the singers, while Brenda and Cobina provide the vocals behind a curtain. But things take an unexpected turn when Brenda and Cobina elope with their sailor escorts, leaving Phoebe with two singers who can't sing.
