Wellington assigns the Royal Irish Company, the Spanish King's Royal bodyguard, to bolster his forces, despite their inexperience, untraining, and ill-equipment, making them a liability in battle. He stations them near the French lines and pairs them with an officer to train them, Sharpe, with the intention of convincing them to leave his army.
Sharpe
Sharpe must discipline the Irish Royal Brigade, but he faces resistance from the men who believe the British are killing their family members in Ireland, while also dealing with a traitor within his ranks.
