Linda Hamilton, the president of Alpha Beta Sorority and campus queen, is diagnosed with a terminal illness and given only a year to live. She keeps her condition a secret from her father, a district attorney, who is busy fighting illegal gambling. Despite this, Linda is drawn to the world of gambling and is photographed at various establishments. Her father is devastated to learn she has been involved in his target activity and demands she testify against her friends. However, Linda refuses and is arrested for the murder of a motorcycle cop. She is put on trial, where her father must confront the harsh reality of his daughter's actions.
