Road Agent background

Road Agent

A 1953 reissue of the movie, titled "Texas Road Agent", was released to avoid confusion with a similar film by RKO, with Universal's title changing to reflect its Texan setting.

Duke Masters and his friends, Pancho and Andy, are undercover agents tasked with capturing a gang of bandits who have been robbing stages carrying gold to cattlemen. They hijack the gold shipment, take it to the bank, and drop it off, causing excitement among the cattlemen. However, the gang's boss, Big John Morgan, tries to frame Duke and his friends for the original robbery and later confers with the bank president, Sam Leavitt, who is an unwilling participant in the holdups.
