A former Confederate soldier and his sons ride into a small Western town with robbery as their goal. However, their plans are disrupted when one of them mistakenly kills a boy playing with a toy gun. Feeling guilty, one of the sons returns to the town, unaware that the family of the boy he killed is living there. The father of the boy, consumed by grief and anger, sets out to exact revenge on the man responsible for his son's death.
