Tumak, a caveman, is expelled from his tribe and finds refuge with a group of gentle coastal cave dwellers, only to be rejected again. One of their women, Loana, leaves with him, choosing to brave the treacherous prehistoric landscape, complete with monstrous creatures and volcanic eruptions, as a couple.
