In a prehistoric world, Tumak, an outcast from the aggressive Rock tribe, finds refuge with the peaceful Shell tribe, where he is taught kindness by the lovely Loana. After being forced to leave, Tumak and Loana return to the Rock tribe, where Loana helps them change their brutal ways, but their progress is disrupted when a volcano erupts.
