Professor Hardwick, a music teacher, takes his classical rhapsody to New York to get published. However, after being surrounded by swing music and getting drunk, he becomes the subject of a compromising photo. He can only sell his work to Eddie, and with the help of Linda McKay, they create a series of swing hits. Their partnership flourishes until Zelda breaks them up, seeking to become the lead singer and have the music published by Hudson.
Naughty But Nice
Professor Hardwick, a traditionalist, teaches at Winfield College and despises the popular swing music. He travels to New York to publish his own rhapsody, but his Aunt Martha's home is filled with the very music he detests.
