Detective James Lee Wong is sought out by a Chinese princess, Princess Lin Hwa, who is on a secret mission to aid Chinese forces fighting the Japanese invasion. However, she is murdered by a poisoned dart in Wong's home, leaving behind a cryptic clue. As Wong investigates, he discovers two captains with the initial J, but both turn out to be hiding secrets. The case is further complicated by the presence of fog on the waterfront and the danger of the poison-dart gun still at large.
