A woman struggling with recurring headaches and insomnia receives threatening letters from a mysterious sender named Lizzie, despite having no knowledge of such a person. As her condition worsens, she seeks the help of a doctor who uses hypnosis to uncover the root of the problem, revealing three distinct personalities within her: Elizabeth, the introverted and well-known self; Lizzie, a wild and reckless persona reminiscent of her mother; and Beth, a virtuous and idealized version of herself. The doctor must now work to integrate the Beth personality, helping the woman overcome her inner turmoil and find a path to healing.
