Cleo Borden, a dance hall queen, inherits her fiancé's wealth after his untimely death, including oil wells overseen by British engineer Carrington. Determined to win his heart, Cleo transforms herself into a refined lady, engaging in various activities such as horse racing, marrying a bankrupt aristocrat, and even singing in an opera. However, when she encounters Carrington again, she discovers he has become the Earl of Stratton.
