S. Quentin Quale, a charismatic con artist, sets out to find his fortune in the west, only to be swindled by two naive brothers. They team up with an old miner, Dan Wilson, who loses his property, Dead Man's Gulch, after loaning the brothers his last money. Unbeknownst to Wilson, his rival's son is planning to build a railroad through the land, making the old man rich. However, a saloon owner tricks the boys out of the deed, and they must work together with Quale to reclaim the property and resolve the feud.
